|In 1985 he started his career as an operator within the Army Special Forces (green berets). A few years later he was admitted into the NCO Course and upon completion he went to serve with the Infantry as a squad commander.
During the 90’s he was asked to transfer to the Military Police branch (Marechaussee). Stationed at Schiphol International Airport as a Warrant Officer he was Chief High-Risk Flight (Armed) Security. Responsible for the entire security of flights from and to the United States and Israel.
Displaying expertise and leadership qualifications at the airport, he was promoted First Lieutenant and was appointed Chief of the National Bureau of Firearms, Explosives and CBRN-E Safety of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. As Bureau Chief he is advisor of the National Tactical Commander of the Marechaussee, Customs and Border Protection, National Coordinator Counter Terrorism, Dutch International Airports, ea. He has a staff of 3 to support him in the various tasks.
